About The Dialogues

What is “The Life Dialogues”?

Before I answer that question, let me tell you something about the way our brains work. Our brains are not designed to remember strings of information. Think about your college text book that you read and reread hoping some of that information would “sink in.” But no, your brain told you this stuff is kind of dull and not important to my survival. If you were lucky, you might remember the facts and details for the test but try remembering that information today! Well? Do you?

But stories… stories read to us or told to us or lived by us – these stories are connected to us and, therefore, are unforgettable. Think about your first love. Think about that story. Do you remember that story today? Of course you do!

So here we are, graduated from school and living our life. But something doesn’t feel just right, so we buy a self-help book and read it and reread it. And memorize the steps. But when we go out to live our life, we forget a step or two or maybe we forget it all. Ah well, that’s life. Right?

But wait! What if we could listen in to an intelligent and provocative conversation about life? What if insights about living life were shared with us through stories that captured our interest and connected to our reality and our brain told us this stuff is important to our survival?

What if we could join in an on-going conversation – The Life Dialogues – full of stories and insights?

So… What is “The Life Dialogues”?

The Life Dialogues is a conversation between me and my friend Rolf. I tell him all my sometimes painful and sometimes funny stories. I laugh and cry. I scream and yell. I am curious and reflective, and I have insights. And Rolf listens to my messy, wonderful life stories. He nods and encourages and believes that I will notice my own thoughts, my own feelings, my own mind; and that I will discover how my life works. And I will remember my insights and discoveries as I go out and live my life!

The Life Dialogues gives context, perspective, and meaning to a philosophy of living that will teach and inspire us all to live a free, spontaneous, simple life. And don’t you forget it!
